Travel Tuesday: Amazon Prime Day Deals

Each Tuesday, I'll be posting about travel deals including flights, accommodations, and excursions. Since today is Prime Day, I thought I'd link below my favorite travel essentials that are on sale through Amazon today.

1. Carry-On Backpack for $32

In August I’m heading to Europe, so I needed a backpack that was large enough to hold two weeks worth of clothes and small enough to fit into a carry-on compartment. I purchased my backpack a few weeks ago and I love it. I choose the extra large backpack with the expansion layer, so there are multiple pockets and a bottom compartment for shoes. My favorite part is that it opens up like an actual suitcase, which makes maximizing space much easier. It also comes with two travel containers that easily fit inside. Despite the low price, nothing about this bag feels cheap. Buy it here.

2. Microfiber Towel Set for $11

For only $11, this towel set comes with three different sized microfiber towels and a bag to carry them in. With their odor resistant and quick drying material, I love to travel with these towels. They pack down easier than a beach towel and are convenient for drying off by the pool or as an alternative to hotel/Airbnb towels. Buy it here.

3. Door Lock for $7

Unfortunately, even ring cameras and hotel security can’t always guarantee safety. With these portable door locks that fit right onto the doors themselves, you can sleep easier knowing that you have an extra layer of protection. This one is over 60% off for Prime Day, making only $7. As easy as these are to pack, I don’t travel without them. Buy it here.

4. Portable Charger for $20

Portable chargers are a must on long travel days, and this one is on sale for less than $20. I prefer one like this, with the cords already attached, so I don’t have to remember to pack the correct cords and it takes up less space in my bag. Buy it here.

5. Packing Cubes for $17

Packing cubes make it easier to organize your luggage and condense the size of your clothes so that they better fit in suitcases. These waterproof mesh cubes are on sale for $17. With eight cubes in a variety of sizes and colors, I think they’re worth every penny. Buy it here.

6. Portable Carbon Monoxide Detector for $22

Federal regulations do not require all Airbnbs and other rentals to have carbon monoxide alarms, despite the deadliness of carbon monoxide poisoning. When I researched accommodations for my Europe trip, even fewer places had carbon monoxide alarms. The alarm listed below plugs into the wall for easy detection, and is small enough to carry in a purse. Buy it here.

7. Portable Jewelry Case for $8

The older I’ve gotten, the more I’ve learned that organization makes travel so much easier. Rather than sticking jewelry into random suitcase compartments to get tangled together, I easily organize it into a small travel case. This one comes in a variety of colors and has multiple compartments to store rings, bracelets, necklaces, earrings, etc. Buy it here.
